Heroes of Might and Magic
Dark times trouble Androna as six empires gird
themselves for impending war. The Undead Lord, the Archmage of the
Wizards and the rogue battle-mage of the Dark Elves have reclaimed their
age old empires and now stand ready to push their borders onward and
outward. Will they take up steel and staff against each other, or is it
the quill and peace? Time will tell, but ambition is a fierce spur to
drive fierce ambitions.
Latest News
Great events have unfolded both on the land, and under it. The Dark
Elves' secret war with the Demon Lords has finally come to an end with the
obliteration of her last army and the capture by Sinitar of the final
Demon stronghold. Whatever else may happen, Androna will not be ruled by
the lords of chaos. What the Dark Elves plan next is still unknown,
whether they will settle in to consolidate their kingdom or if they will
attempt to push on toward empire (which would be a violation of their
truce with the Necromancers). Whichever direction they now turn, it
certainly seems relations between them and the Necromancers have warmed.
Criers and Heralds have suggested some sort of trade agreement between the
two, or perhaps some form of cultural exchange. The Matriarchs Council
and the Necromancer Covens have remained silent on the question, however
it is undeniable that an undead army crossed the Dark Elven border.
As a matter of fact, it seems the Necromancers have entered into some new
phase of diplomacy. What seemed like certain conflict at New Braccada was
averted, or called off. New Braccada remains firmly in the hands of the
Wizard Council. The undead lords have instead turned their attention to
softer targets in the south, though sources are uncertain whether their
war is directed at the Humans (their traditional adversary) or if the
arrogance of the Sylvan finally pushed Kaspar too far. Only time will
offer an answer. Other news from the Necromancers have sent shivers of
fear among their enemies as the vampire lord Nicolai is said to have been
freed from imprisonment. If true, Nicolai's renowned command offers yet
another tool of conquest. It has been whispered, however, that his
imprisonment weakened him somewhat, and that he has been given some amount
of time to feed and regain his strength...
Meanwhile the Wizards have struck a powerful blow against the Sylvans, and
solidified their friendship with the Dark Elves at one stroke. Vinrael,
on an obsessive hunt for the witch Yrwanna, crossed into the fringes of
the desert. But he underestimated the speed of response the wizards were
capable of and after a short and brutish battle his army drenched the sand
red. With the backbone of a Sylvan invasion broken, Jhohara set off
toward Ro'zark with the intention perhaps of returning it to Dark Elf
control. Her efforts have proved to be simply a gesture, however, as the
Dark Elves recaptured Ro'zark while she was still a day or two from the
city. It seems certain now that the Wizards are owed a great favor by the
Dark Elves. Many field officers claim the retaking of Ro'zark could not
have happened were Vinrael not distracted elsewhere and destroyed (though
the Dark Elves deny such imprecations).
